Make A Donation

This site is not for profit and is free to the public. I think of it like Wikipedia — I’m asking for donations only in the amount it takes to run the site. Each year this site costs me $12.00 a month ($144 total) plus the URL name fee of $20.00, for a grand total of $164.00. If 10 people donated $17.00 that covers it. Having this cost covered also demonstrates that the site is valuable to you. This site isn’t for me, as I have all of this information. It really is meant as a service to the wider Collins Collector Community.

Total Received Since Website Launch (which was 12/2020):

  • $20.00, anonymous donation

  • $5.00, anonymous donation

  • $17.00, anonymous donation

Please contact me if you’d like to send me a small donation via PayPal or Venmo. Thank you!

Buy A Bag

Check out my Etsy site, where I will be selling the handbags I photograph to make money to acquire more to photograph. I often sell these bags at cost, because rather than make money my goal is to keep buying bags to document. Note: check back in monthly to see new inventory.

Contribute to My Next Collins Project

Affectionately dubbed Project Matchbox, my next project continues with Enid Collins, but also includes her husband, Frederic. If you are a collector, or have come across something in your family’s attic you are ready to part with, please consider reaching out to me to discuss if I might purchase or use (with photo credit) your contribution. I’m seeking the following:

Brass + Leather, Early Screen Prints

The Collins’ cumulative work spans more than twenty years. I am interested in potentially purchasing your brass, leather or early screen printed collectible or using (with photo credit) an image of it.

Photographs

Do you have a picture of your mom or grandmother posing with her Collins purse? Do you have a vintage school photo or yearbook, perhaps, with students and their Collins’ purses? Maybe even a wedding photo? Please contact me.

Paper Artifacts

Enid would often send out newsletters to her sales reps and stores that carried Collins’ accessories. Maybe you even have an old letter from Enid or someone who worked with Collins in Medina. I’m interested in all paper trails.
