A hobby that got out of hand. — Enid Collins

In 2010, an Enid box bag found me. That launched a 15 year adventure researching Enid’s copyrighted, screen printed designs in my spare time.

Between 1961 and 1972, Enid Collins personally copyrighted 742 designs with the U.S. Copyright Office — not including another 24 marked “EC” and copyrighted by Tandy — for a grand total of 766 designs in her lifetime.

As most of us will never in our lifetime of collecting be able to…

  • afford them all (766 x $100 a bag = $76,000); or

  • find them all (in 20 years, one collector still doesn’t have them all)

…I decided to begin documenting the boundaries of the copyrighted, screen printed work. Thousands of hours later (not kidding), I have found and documented all but a few. For the first time, we can see many of Enid’s designs together in a visual, historical timeline.

As this is in progress, I have included 1961 as an example of the timeline.

This site is for the knowledge and education of the entire Collins Community.

Enjoy!
